Description
Crispy cinnamon-sugar coated apple sticks, made healthier in the air fryer. These Air Fryer Apple Fries deliver the warm, comforting flavor of baked apples with a satisfying crunch—ready in under 20 minutes and perfect for snacking or a light dessert.
Ingredients
2 large apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
0.5 cup all-purpose flour
2 eggs
1 tablespoon milk
1 cup panko breadcrumbs
0.25 cup granulated sugar
1.5 teaspoons ground cinnamon
Cooking spray or oil mister
Instructions
1. Peel and core the apples, then slice them into thin fry-like sticks. Try to keep them evenly sized for even cooking.
2. In one bowl, place the flour. In a second bowl, whisk together eggs and milk. In a third bowl, mix the panko breadcrumbs with cinnamon and sugar.
3. Dredge each apple slice in flour, then dip into the egg mixture, and finally coat with the panko-cinnamon mixture. Press gently to help the coating stick.
4. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with oil. Arrange the apple fries in a single layer (work in batches if needed). Spray the tops with oil, then air fry at 380°F (193°C) for 8-10 minutes or until golden and crispy.
Notes
Use firm apples like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp for best texture.
Press the coating on gently to help it stick before air frying.
Serve warm with caramel sauce or vanilla yogurt for dipping.
