Description

Baked Ricotta Chicken is a juicy, cheesy, oven-baked dinner that’s both easy and elegant. Tender chicken breasts are filled with a garlic-herb ricotta mixture, then topped with mozzarella and baked until golden and bubbly. Perfect for weeknight meals or casual dinner parties.


Ingredients

1 cup whole milk ricotta cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 clove garlic, minced

1/2 teaspoon dried basil

1/2 teaspoon dried oregano

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Zest of 1 lemon

1 tablespoon olive oil

4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)


Instructions

1. In a bowl, mix ricotta, Parmesan, garlic, basil, oregano, lemon zest, salt, and pepper until well combined.

2. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish with olive oil.

3. Slice a pocket into each chicken breast with a sharp knife.

4. Fill each pocket with the ricotta mixture and arrange the chicken in the baking dish.

5. Drizzle olive oil over the chicken and sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top.

6. Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes until the chicken is cooked and cheese is golden.

7. Let rest a few minutes. Garnish with parsley if desired. Serve warm.

Notes

Use whole milk ricotta for best texture.

Let the chicken rest before slicing to keep it juicy.

Add a pinch of red pepper flakes if you like a little heat.
