Description
Banoffee Pie is a heavenly no-bake dessert made with a buttery biscuit crust, luscious toffee filling, fresh banana slices, and clouds of whipped cream. This classic British treat is both elegant and ridiculously simple to prepare.
Ingredients
2 cups digestive biscuit crumbs
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
3 ripe bananas
1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream
2 tablespoons powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Grated chocolate or cocoa powder for garnish (optional)
Instructions
1. Combine biscuit crumbs and melted butter in a bowl. Press mixture into a 9-inch pie dish and chill for at least 30 minutes.
2. Place the unopened can of sweetened condensed milk in a saucepan, cover with water, and simmer for 2.5 hours. Ensure it remains submerged. Cool completely before opening.
3. Slice bananas and layer evenly over the chilled crust.
4. Carefully open the cooled toffee and spread it over the banana slices.
5. Whip the cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until soft peaks form, then spread it over the toffee layer.
6. Garnish with grated chocolate or cocoa powder. Chill the pie for at least 1 hour before serving.
Notes
For faster prep, use store-bought dulce de leche instead of simmering condensed milk.
Bananas can be brushed with lemon juice to prevent browning.
Graham crackers or Biscoff cookies make excellent crust alternatives.
