Description
Flaky, golden puff pastry filled with smooth cream cheese and fresh blueberries. These pastries are simple to make and perfect for breakfast, brunch, or dessert. Serve them warm with a dusting of powdered sugar or a drizzle of glaze.
Ingredients
1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
4 oz cream cheese, softened
2 tbsp granulated sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup fresh blueberries
1 egg
1 tbsp water
Powdered sugar, for dusting (optional)
Instructions
1. In a bowl, mix the cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
2. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and smooth creases. Cut into 4–6 rectangles.
3. Spoon cream cheese filling into the center of each piece and top with blueberries. Fold corners toward the center and press gently.
4. Whisk egg with water, then brush over pastries.
5. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 15–18 minutes or until golden and puffed.
6. Let cool slightly on a rack and dust with powdered sugar if desired.
Notes
Make sure your puff pastry is cold but pliable before using.
If using frozen blueberries, thaw and dry them well to avoid sogginess.
Store leftover pastries in an airtight container and reheat in the oven to maintain crispiness.
