Description

Golden crescent rolls wrapped around savory breakfast sausages, these Breakfast Pigs In A Blanket are the ultimate grab-and-go breakfast. With optional cheese or maple syrup, they’re both kid-friendly and freezer-friendly.

Ingredients

1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough

8 breakfast sausage links fully cooked

1 tablespoon maple syrup (optional)

1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)

1 egg beaten (for egg wash)

cooking spray or parchment paper

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or spray with cooking spray.

2. Unroll the crescent dough and separate it into triangles. If using dough sheets, cut into 8 rectangles and then diagonally to form triangles.

3. Place a sausage link at the wide end of each triangle. Drizzle maple syrup or sprinkle cheese if using.

4. Roll each triangle around the sausage tightly. Place seam-side down on the baking sheet.

5. Brush the tops with beaten egg.

6. Bake for 12–15 minutes until golden brown and puffed.

Notes

For a sweeter touch, drizzle maple syrup before rolling.

Use pre-cooked sausages to keep baking time short and safe.

Freeze baked rolls in a single layer before storing in a bag.
