Description

These Cannoli Cookies bring the rich, creamy flavors of classic Italian cannoli into a soft, chewy cookie. With hints of orange zest, mini chocolate chips, and a sweet glaze, they’re perfect for holiday trays or everyday treats—no frying needed!

Ingredients

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

3/4 cup granulated sugar

1 cup whole milk ricotta cheese (drained if watery)

1 large egg

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 teaspoon orange zest

1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 cup mini chocolate chips

1 cup powdered sugar

1 to 2 tablespoons milk

1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

Chopped pistachios or extra mini chocolate chips for garnish (optional)

Instructions

1. Cream the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

2. Add ricotta, egg, vanilla, orange zest, cinnamon, and salt. Mix until smooth.

3. Stir in flour and baking soda until just combined.

4. Fold in mini chocolate chips.

5. Scoop tablespoon-sized dough onto a parchment-lined sheet.

6. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 12–14 minutes until edges are golden.

7. Let cool on a wire rack.

8. Whisk glaze ingredients until smooth.

9. Drizzle or dip tops of cookies with glaze.

10. Garnish with pistachios or extra mini chips, if desired.

Notes

Drain ricotta in cheesecloth if it’s watery to avoid runny dough.

Mini chocolate chips offer better distribution, but chopped chocolate works too.

Glaze after cooling completely for best texture.
