Ingredients
1 pound ground beef
1 medium onion chopped
2 cloves garlic minced
1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
1 cup sour cream
1 can (4 oz) diced green chilies
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 can refrigerated biscuit or crescent dough
Instructions
1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef with chopped onion and minced garlic until beef is browned and onions are tender. Drain excess fat.
2. Stir in cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, and diced green chilies. Simmer for 2 minutes to blend flavors.
3. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Spread beef mixture evenly in a greased casserole dish. Sprinkle half of shredded cheddar cheese on top.
4. Lay biscuit or crescent dough over the cheese layer, pressing gently to fit. Top with remaining cheese.
5. Bake for 25–30 minutes, until dough is golden and cheese is bubbly.
6. Let rest a few minutes before cutting and serving.
Notes
Be sure to drain beef well to avoid a greasy casserole.
Let the casserole rest before slicing so it sets properly.
Feel free to substitute ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version.
