Description

A cozy, cheesy casserole that layers seasoned ground beef, melted cheddar, and crispy French fries for the ultimate comfort meal. This Cheeseburger French Fry Bake is fast, easy, and always a family favorite.

Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

1/2 cup diced onion

1 tbsp yellow mustard

2 tbsp ketchup

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

16 oz frozen French fries

1/4 cup chopped pickles (optional)

Non-stick cooking spray

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 425°F and spray a 9×13-inch baking dish with non-stick spray. Bake French fries according to package instructions until crispy.

2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef and diced onion until browned. Drain fat. Stir in salt, pepper, mustard, and ketchup. Cook for 2-3 more minutes.

3. Spread beef mixture into prepared baking dish. Top with shredded cheddar cheese. Layer crispy French fries over the cheese.

4. Bake uncovered for 15–20 minutes until cheese is bubbly and fries are golden. Add pickles on top just before serving, if using.

Notes

Bake fries first so they stay crispy in the casserole.

Try adding diced tomatoes or shredded lettuce for a burger-style topping.

Great with tater tots as a fun variation.
