Description
This Cheesy Basil and Garlic Pizza features a crispy golden crust, loads of bubbling mozzarella, aromatic garlic, and vibrant fresh basil. It’s fast, flexible, and full of fresh Italian flavor—perfect for weeknights or weekend indulgence.
Ingredients
1 prepared pizza dough
1 tablespoon olive oil
4 cloves garlic, minced or thinly sliced
1 to 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
0.5 cup fresh basil leaves, torn
0.25 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Salt and pepper to taste
Red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven while preheating.
2. In a small pan, heat olive oil over medium-low heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant and lightly golden. Do not burn.
3. On a floured surface, stretch or roll out pizza dough. Transfer to a parchment-lined baking sheet or pizza peel.
4. Brush the dough with garlic-infused oil. Top with mozzarella, sautéed garlic, torn basil, and Parmesan. Season with salt, pepper, and optional red pepper flakes.
5. Bake for 10–12 minutes or until the crust is golden and cheese is bubbly and browned in spots.
6. Let pizza rest a few minutes before slicing. Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
Let your dough come to room temperature before shaping to prevent tearing.
Don’t overload the pizza with cheese to avoid soggy crust.
Use fresh basil for the best flavor; dried basil changes the profile.
