This Cheesy Beef and Italian Sausage Rigatoni in Garlic Butter Sauce is a hearty, flavorful pasta dish made with melty mozzarella, sharp parmesan, and a rich garlic butter sauce. It’s the ultimate comfort food dinner recipe, perfect for easy weeknights or cozy family meals.
Ingredients
16 oz rigatoni pasta
1 lb ground beef
1 lb Italian sausage
1 medium onion, finely chopped
4 cloves garlic, minced
6 tbsp unsalted butter
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1 cup grated parmesan cheese
1 tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
1 pinch red pepper flakes (optional)
2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (optional)
Instructions
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook rigatoni until just al dente, then drain and set aside.
2. In a large skillet, cook ground beef and Italian sausage over medium heat until fully browned. Drain excess fat and set aside.
3. In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté the chopped onion until soft. Add garlic and cook until fragrant.
4. Return the cooked meat to the skillet. Stir in the cooked rigatoni and mix everything well over low heat.
5. Add mozzarella and parmesan cheese. Stir gently until the cheese melts and coats the pasta evenly.
6. Season with salt, pepper, and optional red pepper flakes. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot.
Notes
Use al dente pasta so it doesn’t turn mushy when combined.
Drain the meat fat to keep the sauce from being greasy.
Melt cheese over low heat to keep it smooth and creamy.
