Ingredients
4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon paprika
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons all purpose flour
2 cups milk
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 cloves garlic minced
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon mustard powder optional
1 tablespoon fresh parsley chopped
Instructions
1. Pat chicken breasts dry and season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and cook chicken for 5 to 7 minutes per side until golden and fully cooked. Remove and set aside.
3. In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté minced garlic until fragrant.
4. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute to form a roux.
5. Gradually whisk in milk, stirring continuously until the sauce thickens.
6. Reduce heat and add cheddar and Parmesan cheese, stirring until smooth.
7. Mix in onion powder and mustard powder if using.
8. Return chicken to the skillet and coat with the cheese sauce. Simmer for 2 to 3 minutes.
9. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.
Notes
Use freshly shredded cheese for a smoother sauce and better melting.
Add a splash of milk when reheating to keep the sauce creamy.
You can substitute chicken thighs for a juicier result.
