Description
This Cold Tuna Pasta Salad is a refreshing, creamy classic perfect for warm weather meals, potlucks, or quick lunches. It’s filled with tender rotini pasta, flaky tuna, crisp celery, peas, and a tangy mayo-yogurt dressing that only gets better after chilling.
Ingredients
8 oz rotini pasta
2 cans (5 oz each) tuna in water, drained
1 cup celery, finely chopped
1/2 cup red onion, diced
1/2 cup sweet pickles or relish
1 cup frozen peas, thawed
3/4 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
1 tbsp Dijon mustard
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the pasta until al dente. Drain and rinse under cold water to stop cooking. Let cool completely.
2. In a large bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, Greek yogurt, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper.
3. Add the cooled pasta to the dressing. Gently fold in tuna, celery, red onion, pickles, and peas. Mix until fully coated.
4. Cover and chill the salad for at least 30 minutes. Garnish with parsley before serving.
Notes
Use short, ridged pasta like rotini or shells for best texture.
Tuna in oil can be substituted but be sure to drain well.
Add extra mayo or yogurt before serving if salad seems dry.
