Description
Cowboy Butter Smashed Beef Tortilla Melts combine juicy smashed burger patties, melted cheese, and garlicky cowboy butter inside crisped tortillas. This skillet meal is quick, cheesy, and boldly flavorful—perfect for weeknights or satisfying lunches.
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef (80/20)
4 large flour tortillas
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
0.5 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1 tbsp oil
Salt and pepper to taste
0.5 cup unsalted butter, melted
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp Dijon mustard
0.5 tsp smoked paprika
0.5 tsp red pepper flakes
1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
1 tsp lemon juice
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
1. Melt butter in a small bowl. Stir in garlic, Dijon, paprika, red pepper flakes, parsley, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Set aside.
2. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat with oil. Divide beef into 4 balls, then smash each in the skillet into thin patties. Season and cook 2–3 minutes per side until browned.
3. On half of each tortilla, place a beef patty, shredded cheeses, and spoonful of cowboy butter. Fold to close.
4. Clean skillet and return to heat. Toast each folded tortilla 2–3 minutes per side until golden and cheese is melted.
5. Slice and serve hot with extra cowboy butter for dipping.
Notes
For extra flavor, add sautéed onions or jalapeños inside the tortillas.
Use freshly grated cheese for better melting and taste.
Don’t skip the lemon juice in the cowboy butter—it balances the richness.
