  • Total Time: 5 minutes
  • Yield: About 1 cup (enough for 8–10 cinnamon rolls)
  • Diet: Vegetarian

Description

This Cream Cheese Frosting for Cinnamon Rolls is the ultimate creamy, tangy-sweet topping. It melts into warm rolls for that iconic gooey finish and is versatile enough to use on other baked goods too.

Ingredients

4 oz cream cheese, softened

4 tbsp unsalted butter, softened

1 cup powdered sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

Pinch of salt

1 to 2 tbsp milk or heavy cream (optional)

Instructions

1. In a medium mixing bowl, beat softened cream cheese and butter until smooth and fluffy.

2. Add powdered sugar gradually, mixing on low, then beating until creamy.

3. Mix in vanilla extract and a pinch of salt.

4. If the frosting is too thick, add milk or cream 1 tablespoon at a time until it reaches your desired consistency.

5. Spread onto warm cinnamon rolls and enjoy!

Notes

Always use block cream cheese for best results.

Let ingredients come to room temperature before mixing.

If frosting is too soft, chill briefly before using.
