Creamy Cajun Sausage Pasta Dinner is a quick, flavorful, one-pan meal with bold Cajun spice, smoky sausage, and a velvety cream sauce. Perfect for busy weeknights or cozy family dinners.
Ingredients
12 oz smoked sausage, sliced
8 oz penne pasta
1 tbsp olive oil
1 red bell pepper, sliced
0.5 onion, sliced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1.5 tsp Cajun seasoning
0.5 tsp smoked paprika
1 cup heavy cream
0.5 cup chicken broth
0.5 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Salt and black pepper to taste
Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
1. Boil a large pot of salted water and cook penne pasta until al dente. Drain and set aside.
2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add sliced sausage and sear until browned on both sides. Remove and set aside.
3. In the same skillet, add the red bell pepper and onion. Sauté until softened, about 5 minutes. Stir in minced garlic and cook for 1 minute more.
4. Sprinkle Cajun seasoning and smoked paprika over the veggies. Pour in heavy cream and chicken broth, stirring well. Simmer for 3-4 minutes.
5. Stir in Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth. Return sausage to the skillet and add the cooked pasta. Toss everything together to coat.
6. Taste and adjust with salt and black pepper as needed. Garnish with parsley and serve hot.
Notes
Use andouille sausage for a spicier kick.
Add spinach or mushrooms to boost the veggie content.
If reheating, add a splash of broth or cream to loosen the sauce.
