Description

Creamy Garlic Shrimp Over Mashed Potatoes is a comforting, elegant dinner made with juicy shrimp simmered in a garlicky cream sauce served over buttery mashed potatoes. Perfect for weeknights or when entertaining, this dish is rich, indulgent, and incredibly simple to prepare.


Ingredients

1 lb large shrimp (peeled and deveined)

2 tbsp olive oil

3 tbsp unsalted butter

5 cloves garlic (minced)

1 cup heavy cream

0.5 cup chicken broth

0.5 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 tsp Italian seasoning

0.5 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

Salt and pepper to taste

4 cups mashed potatoes (prepared)

Fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)


Instructions

1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Season shrimp with salt and pepper, and sear 1–2 minutes per side until pink. Remove from skillet.

2. Melt butter in the same skillet and sauté minced garlic for 1 minute until fragrant.

3. Lower heat to medium, stir in heavy cream and chicken broth, and let simmer for 2–3 minutes. Add Parmesan, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes.

4. Return shrimp to skillet, tossing gently to coat. Cook another 1–2 minutes until warmed through.

5. Spoon over mashed potatoes and garnish with parsley. Serve hot.

Notes

Use fresh or frozen shrimp, but make sure they’re fully thawed and patted dry.

If the sauce is too thick, thin it with a splash of broth or cream.

This dish pairs well with roasted green beans or a side salad.
