Ingredients
12 oz bowtie pasta
1 lb Velveeta cheese, cubed
1 lb ground beef
1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
2 tbsp tomato paste
1 tbsp Italian seasoning
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 medium onion, chopped
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
2 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the bowtie pasta until al dente. Drain and reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water.
2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onion and garlic, sauté until fragrant and translucent.
3. Add ground beef, cook until browned and no longer pink. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
4. Stir in tomato paste and crushed tomatoes. Simmer for 10 minutes to meld the flavors.
5. Add cubed Velveeta to the sauce. Stir until melted and creamy. Add reserved pasta water if the sauce is too thick.
6. Mix in cooked pasta until well coated. Serve hot with optional fresh herbs or grated parmesan.
Notes
Use freshly minced garlic for the best flavor.
Don’t skip reserving pasta water—it helps achieve the perfect sauce consistency.
This recipe is adaptable—try swapping in ground turkey or adding chopped spinach.
