Description

Golden and crispy on the outside, soft and buttery on the inside—this crusty garlic bread is the perfect side for any savory meal. Quick to prepare and loaded with flavor, it’s a must-have for pasta nights or soup dinners.

Ingredients

1 large French baguette or Italian loaf

0.5 cup unsalted butter, softened

4 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped

0.25 teaspoon salt

0.25 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions

1. In a small bowl, mix together the softened butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, and salt. Fold in the Parmesan cheese if using.

2. Slice the loaf in half horizontally. Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over the cut sides.

3. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Place bread halves on a baking sheet, buttered side up. Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until edges are golden.

4. For extra crispiness, broil on high for 1–2 minutes. Watch closely to avoid burning.

5. Slice and serve warm. Wrap leftovers in foil to reheat later.

Notes

Use fresh garlic for the richest flavor, but garlic powder works in a pinch.

Want more crisp? Don’t skip the broil at the end.

To make ahead, prep and butter the bread and refrigerate or freeze before baking.
