Description
Decadent Chocolate Pistachio Kunafa recipe combines crispy kunafa pastry, rich chocolate ganache, and crunchy pistachios. Perfect for Ramadan, Eid, or any celebration. A modern twist on a Middle Eastern classic dessert.
Ingredients
250g kunafa pastry (kataifi)
150g unsalted butter melted
100ml sugar syrup warm
200g semi-sweet or dark chocolate chopped
200ml heavy cream
100g pistachios chopped
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large bowl, separate kunafa strands and coat them evenly with melted butter.
2. In a greased round pan, press half of the buttered kunafa firmly into the bottom to form an even layer. Bake for about 15 minutes until lightly golden.
3. Heat heavy cream in a saucepan until it simmers. Pour over chopped chocolate and let sit for a minute, then stir until smooth to make ganache.
4. Pour ganache over the baked kunafa base and spread evenly. Sprinkle half of the chopped pistachios over the ganache.
5. Cover with the remaining kunafa strands, pressing gently. Bake for another 25–30 minutes until golden and crisp.
6. Drizzle warm sugar syrup over the hot kunafa. Cool slightly, then garnish with remaining pistachios. Serve warm or chilled.
Notes
Use high-quality chocolate for the best flavor.
Do not overbake, or the kunafa will become too hard.
For a firmer texture, chill before serving.
