Ingredients
1 cup long-grain white rice
2 cups chicken broth
1 tablespoon olive oil
0.5 pound ground beef
0.5 pound ground pork or sausage
1 small onion finely diced
1 green bell pepper finely diced
2 celery stalks finely chopped
2 cloves garlic minced
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
0.5 teaspoon dried thyme
0.5 teaspoon salt
0.25 teaspoon black pepper
2 tablespoons green onions or parsley chopped
Instructions
1. Rinse the rice and cook it with chicken broth until tender.
2. Brown the ground beef and pork in olive oil.
3. Add onion, bell pepper, and celery and cook until softened.
4. Stir in garlic and cook briefly.
5. Season with paprika, Cajun seasoning, thyme, salt, and pepper.
6. Fold in cooked rice and heat through.
