Description
This Easy Grilled Chicken Cordon Bleu Sandwich transforms the classic French-inspired dish into a casual, flavor-packed sandwich. Grilled chicken, savory ham, and melty Swiss cheese come together with honey mustard on a toasted bun—perfect for quick dinners or satisfying lunches.
Ingredients
2 boneless skinless chicken breasts (or 4 thin cutlets)
Salt and black pepper to taste
0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
0.5 teaspoon smoked paprika
4 slices Swiss cheese
4 slices deli-style ham
4 sandwich buns or brioche rolls
2 tablespoons butter
4 tablespoons honey mustard sauce
Optional toppings: lettuce, tomato slices, pickles
Instructions
1. Season chicken breasts or cutlets with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika. Let rest for 10 minutes.
2. Preheat grill or grill pan over medium heat. Grill chicken 5–6 minutes per side (3–4 minutes for cutlets), until fully cooked.
3. In the last minute of grilling, top each chicken piece with a slice of ham and cheese to melt slightly.
4. Spread butter on bun interiors and toast face-down on grill until golden.
5. Spread honey mustard on each bun half. Layer chicken with ham and melted cheese, add optional toppings, and close sandwich. Serve warm.
Notes
Use thin-cut chicken breasts for quicker cooking and easier layering.
Add extra toppings like arugula or crispy bacon for flavor variation.
Swap Swiss for provolone or mozzarella if preferred.
