Description

This creamy homemade tartar sauce is a zesty, tangy, and herb-packed dip that comes together in minutes. Perfect with fried fish, crab cakes, or even roasted vegetables, it’s far better than anything from a jar. Made with dill pickles, lemon juice, and a hint of Dijon, this sauce will become a fridge staple.

Ingredients

1 cup mayonnaise

2 tablespoons finely chopped dill pickles

1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)

0.5 teaspoon onion powder

0.25 teaspoon garlic powder

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

1. In a medium bowl, add the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, and lemon juice. Whisk together until smooth.

2. Stir in the chopped dill pickles, parsley, onion powder, and garlic powder. Mix until well combined.

3. Add salt and pepper to taste.

4. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow flavors to develop.

Notes

Keep refrigerated and use within 7 days.

Use Greek yogurt instead of mayo for a lighter option.

Add capers or a splash of pickle juice for extra zing.
