Description
A cozy homemade latte made with rich browned butter, maple syrup, and espresso, creating a warm and nutty flavor in every sip—ready in minutes and endlessly comforting.
Ingredients
1 tablespoon unsalted butter
1 to 2 teaspoons pure maple syrup
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
3/4 cup milk of choice
1/4 cup brewed espresso or strong coffee
Pinch sea salt (optional)
Instructions
1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and cook until golden and nutty, about 2 to 3 minutes.
2. Lower the heat and stir in maple syrup, vanilla, and salt until combined.
3. Add milk and heat until steaming. Froth if desired.
4. Brew espresso or strong coffee.
5. Pour coffee into a mug and top with the maple brown butter milk. Stir gently and serve hot.
Notes
Use barista-style oat or almond milk for a dairy-free version that froths well.
Adjust sweetness by starting with 1 teaspoon of maple syrup and adding more to taste.
Don’t skip the pinch of salt—it deepens the flavor and enhances the maple.
