Description

These Easy Perfect Baked Eggs are a simple yet elegant way to start the day. With creamy yolks and tender whites, they bake gently in a water bath for foolproof results every time. Customize with herbs, cheese, or veggies, and enjoy them warm with toast or greens.


Ingredients

1 teaspoon butter or oil

4 large eggs

Pinch salt

Pinch freshly cracked black pepper

2 tablespoons heavy cream or milk (optional)

1 tablespoon chopped fresh herbs (optional)

2 tablespoons grated Parmesan or favorite cheese (optional)


Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease ramekins or a small baking dish.

2. Crack 1-2 eggs into each ramekin or all eggs into a small baking dish. Keep yolks intact.

3. Drizzle cream over the eggs if using, then sprinkle with salt, pepper, herbs, and cheese.

4. Place the ramekins/dish into a larger baking pan and fill with hot water halfway up the sides.

5. Bake for 12–15 minutes until whites are set and yolks are soft or runny as desired.

6. Carefully remove from water bath and serve immediately with toast or greens.

Notes

Use a hot water bath to cook eggs evenly without drying the yolks.

Add herbs or cheese for extra flavor, or keep it classic with salt and pepper.

Avoid overbaking—pull them from the oven once whites are set and yolks still jiggle.
