Ingredients
1 lb boneless skinless chicken thighs (or breasts), cut into bite-sized pieces
0.5 cup cornstarch
0.25 cup all-purpose flour
0.5 tsp salt
0.25 tsp black pepper
2 tbsp vegetable oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
0.25 cup low-sodium soy sauce
2 tbsp rice vinegar
0.25 cup honey
2 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp sesame oil
1 tsp cornstarch
2 tsp water
1 tbsp sesame seeds, toasted
sliced green onions, for garnish
Instructions
1. Toss chicken pieces with cornstarch, flour, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
2. Heat oil in skillet and cook chicken in batches until golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain.
3. In the same skillet, cook garlic until fragrant. Add soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, brown sugar, and sesame oil. Simmer.
4. Stir in cornstarch slurry and cook until the sauce thickens and turns glossy.
5. Return chicken to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.
Notes
Use chicken thighs for juicier, more flavorful bites.
Don’t overcrowd the pan when frying to keep the chicken crispy.
Double the sauce if serving with rice or noodles and you want extra.
