Description
These Firecracker Steak Bites are seared to perfection and coated in a sticky, spicy-sweet chili glaze. Whether served as a bold appetizer or a fiery dinner centerpiece, they bring the heat in all the right ways.
Ingredients
1 1/2 lbs sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
2 tablespoons butter
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup hot sauce (like Frank’s RedHot)
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
Salt and pepper to taste
Chopped green onions and sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
1. Cut steak into bite-sized cubes and pat dry with paper towels. Toss with cornstarch, salt, and pepper.
2. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear steak bites in batches for about 2 minutes per side. Set aside.
3. In the same skillet, melt butter and stir in brown sugar, hot sauce, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes. Simmer 3–5 minutes.
4. Return steak bites to skillet and toss to coat. Cook 1–2 more minutes to meld flavors.
5. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds. Serve hot.
Notes
Patting the steak dry helps achieve a great sear.
Adjust spice level by reducing hot sauce or omitting red pepper flakes.
Serve immediately for best texture and flavor.
