These French Dip Sliders are the perfect bite-sized version of the beloved sandwich, layered with roast beef, melty provolone, and sweet caramelized onions on soft slider buns. Baked until golden and served with savory au jus, they’re a cozy, crave-worthy hit for any occasion.
Ingredients
12 slider buns or sweet Hawaiian rolls
1 lb deli-style roast beef, sliced thin
12 slices provolone cheese
1 large onion, thinly sliced
2 tbsp unsalted butter
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/4 tsp salt
1 packet au jus gravy mix
2 tbsp melted butter
1/2 tsp dried parsley
Instructions
1. Heat olive oil and butter in a skillet over medium-low heat. Add sliced onions, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Cook, stirring often, until caramelized (about 20–25 minutes).
2. Preheat oven to 350°F. Slice slider buns horizontally and place the bottom halves in a baking dish.
3. Layer roast beef, caramelized onions, and provolone cheese over the buns.
4. Place top buns on and brush with melted butter. Sprinkle with dried parsley.
5. Cover with foil and bake for 15 minutes. Uncover and bake an additional 5–8 minutes until golden.
6. While baking, prepare au jus according to package instructions. Serve sliders with warm au jus for dipping.
Notes
Use sweet Hawaiian rolls for a soft and slightly sweet base.
Don’t skip the caramelized onions—they add a rich depth of flavor.
Wrap leftovers in foil and reheat in the oven to keep the buns crispy.
