Ingredients
1 prepared 9-inch pie crust (baked and cooled)
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
4 ounces unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
4 large eggs (pasteurized if preferred)
1.5 cups heavy whipping cream
2 tablespoons powdered sugar
Chocolate curls or shavings for garnish (optional)
Instructions
1. Beat the softened butter and sugar together on medium speed for 3-5 minutes until light and fluffy.
2. Add the melted, cooled chocolate and vanilla extract; beat until fully incorporated.
3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating each for a full 5 minutes before adding the next.
4. Pour the filling into the prepared crust and smooth the top. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
5. Beat heavy cream with powdered sugar until soft peaks form. Spread over the chilled pie and top with chocolate curls.

Use pasteurized eggs for safety or gently heat eggs in a double boiler if concerned.
