Description

A rustic one-skillet meal made with crispy fried potatoes, caramelized onions, and smoky Polish sausage. Perfect for a comforting dinner or hearty brunch, it’s easy, flavorful, and family-approved.

Ingredients

1 lb smoked Polish sausage

1.5 lbs Yukon Gold or red potatoes

1 large yellow onion

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 tablespoon unsalted butter

0.5 teaspoon garlic powder

Salt and pepper to taste

Optional fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

1. Wash and thinly slice potatoes and onion. Slice sausage into ¼-inch rounds.

2. Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a skillet. Cook sausage slices until golden brown, 4-5 minutes. Remove and set aside.

3. Add 1 tbsp olive oil and butter to the same skillet. Cook sliced onions for 6-8 minutes until soft and golden.

4. Add potatoes to the skillet. Spread evenly and cook undisturbed for 5 minutes. Stir and cook another 10-12 minutes until golden and tender.

5. Return sausage to skillet. Season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes to blend flavors.

6. Garnish with parsley and serve hot.

Notes

Use a non-stick or cast iron skillet to prevent sticking.

Don’t overcrowd the pan—potatoes need space to crisp.

Add bell peppers or mushrooms for extra texture and flavor.
