Ingredients
1 loaf French or Italian bread
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
4 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup grated Parmesan or mozzarella (optional)
Instructions
1. In a small bowl, mix the softened butter with minced garlic, chopped parsley, and salt until smooth.
2. Slice the bread in half lengthwise or into smaller pieces if preferred.
3. Spread the garlic butter evenly over each piece. Add cheese if using.
4. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake bread for 10–12 minutes.
5. Broil for 1–2 minutes for extra golden edges.
6. Slice and serve hot.
