Golden Crusted Cheesy Cauliflower Steaks are thick cauliflower slices roasted to tender perfection and topped with a bubbly, golden cheese crust. A cozy, low-carb, and gluten-free vegetarian dish that delivers big comfort and flavor in every bite.
Ingredients
1 large head cauliflower
2 tablespoons olive oil
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
Salt and black pepper to taste
1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Fresh parsley or chives, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
1. Trim the leaves from the cauliflower and cut into thick slices (about 3/4 to 1 inch) to form steaks. Roast any loose florets too.
2. Place cauliflower steaks on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Brush with olive oil and season with garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
3. Roast at 425°F (220°C) for 20 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and tender.
4. Top each steak with cheddar and mozzarella. Sprinkle Parmesan on top if using.
5. Broil on high for 2–4 minutes until cheese is golden and bubbly.
6. Garnish with parsley or chives and serve hot.
Notes
Use a very sharp knife and a tight, firm cauliflower head to prevent the steaks from crumbling.
Add red pepper flakes or hot sauce for a spicy kick.
Try smoked gouda or pepper jack for cheese variety.
