Description
Grandma’s Goulash recipe is the ultimate comfort food dinner, made with ground beef, macaroni, and a savory tomato sauce. This easy, budget-friendly family meal is perfect for weeknights and packed with cozy flavors.
Ingredients
1 pound ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 cups tomato sauce
1 can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes
2 cups elbow macaroni (uncooked)
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Instructions
1. Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat, breaking it into crumbles as it cooks. Add chopped onion and minced garlic. Cook until beef is fully browned and onions are translucent.
2. Drain excess fat from the skillet. Stir in tomato sauce and diced tomatoes. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Simmer on low heat for 15 minutes.
3. Meanwhile, cook elbow macaroni in a pot of salted boiling water until al dente. Drain.
4. Add cooked macaroni to the skillet with the sauce. Stir gently to combine. Taste and adjust seasonings if needed. Serve hot.
Notes
Be sure to cook pasta just to al dente to avoid mushy texture.
Drain excess fat from beef for a less greasy dish.
Simmer sauce to allow flavors to develop fully.
