Description

Grilled Balsamic Steak Caprese with Mozzarella, Tomatoes, and Basil is a bold and fresh summer dinner idea. Juicy steak, creamy mozzarella, sweet tomatoes, and fragrant basil are layered and finished with a balsamic glaze for a satisfying and elegant dish. Perfect for grilling season, this recipe blends Italian charm with backyard ease.

Ingredients

1.5 pounds steak (ribeye, flank, or sirloin)

1/4 cup balsamic vinegar

2 tablespoons olive oil

2 garlic cloves, minced

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

8 ounces fresh mozzarella

3 medium tomatoes

1/4 cup fresh basil leaves

2 tablespoons balsamic glaze

Instructions

1. Combine balsamic vinegar, olive oil, garlic, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Place steak in a resealable bag or dish and pour marinade over it. Refrigerate for 30 minutes to 4 hours.

2. Preheat grill to medium-high. Clean and lightly oil the grates. Bring steak to room temperature.

3. Grill steak for 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until preferred doneness. Let it rest 5–10 minutes.

4. Slice steak thinly against the grain. Arrange tomato and mozzarella slices on a platter, adding basil leaves.

5. Layer steak slices on top. Drizzle with balsamic glaze and sprinkle sea salt if desired. Serve warm.

Notes

This dish is best served fresh but leftovers can be stored separately.

Use a meat thermometer to avoid overcooking.

Don’t skip resting the steak before slicing for best juiciness.
