These festive Holiday Wreath Meringues are crisp on the outside with a soft, marshmallow-like center. Swirled with a hint of red and topped with lightly sweetened whipped cream and fresh berries, they make a stunning holiday dessert that’s as elegant as it is simple.
Ingredients
4 large egg whites
1 cup granulated sugar
1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Red gel food coloring
1 cup heavy whipping cream
2 tablespoons powdered sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup fresh raspberries
1/2 cup pomegranate seeds
1/2 cup fresh cranberries
Extra powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 225°F (110°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Beat egg whites and cream of tartar until soft peaks form.
3. Gradually add sugar and beat until stiff, glossy peaks form, then mix in vanilla.
4. Add red gel coloring streaks inside a piping bag and fill with meringue.
5. Pipe wreath shapes onto parchment using circular motions.
6. Bake for 1.5 hours, then turn off oven and let cool inside for 1 hour.
7. Whip cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until soft peaks form.
8. Pipe or spoon whipped cream onto cooled meringues.
9. Top with berries and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
Make sure your mixing bowl is completely grease-free for best meringue results.
