Description

These Cream Cheese Snowball Cookies are buttery, soft, and delicately sweet with a melt-in-your-mouth finish. Made with cream cheese for added richness, they’re rolled in powdered sugar for that snowy holiday look. Perfect for festive trays, edible gifts, or cozy cookie moments.


Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

6 oz cream cheese, softened

1 cup powdered sugar

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 cup finely chopped pecans (optional)


Instructions

1. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and cream cheese until smooth and fluffy (about 2–3 minutes).

2. Mix in the powdered sugar and vanilla extract until well combined.

3. Add the flour and salt gradually; mix until the dough forms. Stir in chopped pecans if using.

4. Cover the dough and chill for at least 1 hour.

5. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Roll dough into tablespoon-sized balls and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

6. Bake for 12–14 minutes until bottoms are lightly golden. Cool slightly.

7. While warm, roll cookies in powdered sugar. Once cooled, roll again for extra coating.

Notes

Full-fat block cream cheese works best; avoid whipped versions.

Chilling the dough ensures cookies hold their shape.

For nut-free variation, omit pecans or substitute mini chocolate chips.
