These homemade Mint Patties are cool, creamy, and coated in a smooth chocolate shell. Made with simple pantry ingredients, they’re a refreshing no-bake treat perfect for holidays, gifting, or satisfying a sweet tooth. The peppermint center melts in your mouth while the chocolate adds rich balance.
Ingredients
2 cups powdered sugar
1 tablespoon unsalted butter softened
1 1/2 teaspoons pure peppermint extract
1 tablespoon heavy cream
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
8 ounces semi sweet or dark chocolate chopped
1 tablespoon crushed candy canes optional
Instructions
1. In a mixing bowl combine powdered sugar, softened butter, peppermint extract, vanilla extract, salt, and heavy cream. Mix until a smooth dough forms. Add a few drops of cream if needed.
2. Scoop teaspoon sized portions, roll into balls, then flatten into small discs.
3. Place patties on a parchment lined baking sheet and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
4. Melt chocolate in a microwave safe bowl in 30 second intervals stirring between each until smooth.
5. Dip each chilled patty into melted chocolate using a fork. Tap gently to remove excess chocolate.
6. Place back onto parchment paper and sprinkle with crushed candy canes if desired.
7. Allow chocolate to set completely before storing.
Notes
Use pure peppermint extract for the cleanest flavor.
Chill the patties well before dipping to prevent melting.
Store in the refrigerator for best texture and flavor.
