Description
Crispy, golden, and dramatically puffed, these Perfect Individual Yorkshire Puddings are a classic British side dish that transform simple ingredients into a dinner table showstopper. Serve them warm with roast beef or fill them with sweet or savory fillings for an unforgettable twist.
Ingredients
3 large eggs
1 cup whole milk
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp salt
2 tbsp neutral oil (like vegetable or canola), for greasing
Instructions
1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, and salt until frothy.
2. Gradually sift in the flour and whisk until smooth. Let the batter rest for at least 30 minutes at room temperature.
3. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C). Add about 1/2 tsp oil into each cup of a 12-cup metal muffin tin. Place the tin in the oven to heat for 10 minutes.
4. Carefully remove the hot tin and pour the batter evenly into each cup, filling them halfway.
5. Return the tin to the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes without opening the door.
6. Remove from oven once puffed and golden. Let cool for 1 minute, then serve immediately.
Notes
Let the batter rest to improve texture and rise.
Use a metal muffin tin for maximum puff.
Don’t open the oven during baking, or they might collapse.
