Description
These slow cooker shredded chicken tacos are tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. With minimal prep and a handful of ingredients, you get a delicious, hands-off taco night that everyone will love. Great for weeknights, parties, and meal prep.
Ingredients
2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts
1 packet taco seasoning mix
1 cup salsa
0.5 cup chicken broth
1 tablespoon lime juice
1 teaspoon garlic powder
0.5 teaspoon ground cumin
Taco shells or tortillas
Optional toppings: shredded lettuce, chopped tomatoes, sour cream, avocado, shredded cheese, cilantro
Instructions
1. Place chicken in the bottom of the slow cooker.
2. Sprinkle taco seasoning, garlic powder, and cumin evenly over the chicken.
3. Pour salsa and chicken broth over the top, then add lime juice.
4. Cover and cook on low for 6–7 hours or high for 3–4 hours.
5. Once tender, shred the chicken with two forks in the cooker.
6. Stir to combine chicken with juices.
7. Warm tortillas or taco shells.
8. Fill each with shredded chicken and your favorite toppings.
9. Serve and enjoy!
Notes
Chicken thighs can be used for extra moisture and flavor.
Add jalapeños or hot salsa for a spicy kick.
Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
