Description
These Plum & Cheese Puff Pastry Tarts feature flaky pastry topped with a sweet vanilla cream cheese spread and juicy roasted plums. A drizzle of honey finishes them off beautifully—perfect for brunch or dessert.
Ingredients
1 sheet puff pastry (thawed but cold)
4 oz cream cheese (softened)
2 tbsp powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 ripe plums (thinly sliced)
1 tbsp honey (optional, for drizzling)
1 egg (for egg wash)
1 tbsp coarse sugar (optional, for crust edge)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Unfold puff pastry and cut into 4 equal rectangles. Score a 1/2-inch border inside each piece.
3. Mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Spread within the scored area.
4. Arrange plum slices on top of the cream cheese layer, overlapping slightly.
5. Brush edges with beaten egg and sprinkle with coarse sugar if desired.
6. Bake for 18–22 minutes or until golden and puffed. Let cool slightly and drizzle with honey before serving.
Notes
Use ripe but firm plums for best texture.
Chill the pastry before baking to ensure a good puff.
Don’t skip the egg wash—it gives the pastry a golden, glossy finish.
