Description

Ingredients

1 pound lean ground beef

1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce

2 tablespoons brown sugar

1 tablespoon sesame oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 teaspoon ground ginger

1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

2 green onions, sliced

1 tablespoon sesame seeds

2 cups cooked white rice (jasmine or short-grain preferred)


Instructions

1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, about 5–7 minutes, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon.

2. Drain excess fat if necessary, then stir in the minced garlic, ground ginger, and crushed red pepper. Sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.

3. Pour in the soy sauce, brown sugar, and sesame oil. Stir well to coat the beef evenly. Let it simmer for another 2–3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly and absorbs.

4. Spoon the flavorful beef over warm rice. Top with sliced green onions and a generous sprinkle of sesame seeds. Serve immediately.

Notes

You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for beef.

Add a fried egg on top for extra protein and richness.
