Description
Juicy Salisbury Steak Meatballs smothered in a rich onion gravy. This comforting dinner is perfect over mashed potatoes or noodles and makes a nostalgic, hearty meal the whole family will love.
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef (85/15 blend)
1/4 cup breadcrumbs
1/4 cup milk
1 egg
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
Salt and black pepper to taste
1 tbsp olive oil
1 medium onion, thinly sliced
2 cups beef broth
2 tbsp flour
2 tbsp butter
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix just until combined.
2. Shape the mixture into 1 to 1.5-inch meatballs. Brown them in olive oil in a skillet over medium heat, turning to sear all sides. Remove and set aside.
3. In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté onions until caramelized, about 8-10 minutes.
4. Sprinkle flour over onions and stir for 1 minute. Slowly whisk in beef broth. Add Worcestershire, salt, and pepper. Simmer until the gravy thickens.
5. Return meatballs to the skillet. Cover and simmer on low for 10-15 minutes, until fully cooked. Serve warm.
Notes
Use 85/15 ground beef for moisture and flavor.
Don’t overmix the meat mixture—keep it tender.
Leftovers freeze great with gravy for quick meals later.
