Ingredients
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 pound ground beef or Italian sausage
1 small onion, diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 jar 24 oz marinara sauce
1 can 14.5 oz diced tomatoes, drained
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 package 25 oz frozen or refrigerated cheese ravioli
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup fresh basil or parsley, chopped (optional garnish)
Instructions
1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add ground meat, onion, and garlic. Cook until browned and tender. Drain excess fat.
2. Stir in marinara sauce, diced tomatoes, seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer 5 minutes.
3. Layer meat sauce in slow cooker. Add ravioli, then cheese. Repeat layers and finish with cheese on top.
4. Cook on LOW 4–5 hours or HIGH 2–3 hours until ravioli is tender and cheese is bubbly.
5. Let rest 10 minutes, garnish with basil or parsley, and serve.
Notes
You can prep the layers the night before and refrigerate until ready to cook.
Swap ground beef for turkey or a plant-based substitute for a lighter version.
Don’t forget to spray the slow cooker to avoid sticking and make cleanup easy.
