Description

This South Carolina Bird Dog Sandwich recipe is a delicious Southern sandwich made with crispy chicken tenders, honey mustard, cheddar cheese, and bacon in a warm bun. Perfect for lunch, dinner, or game day!

Ingredients

2 chicken tenders per sandwich 1 hot dog bun per sandwich 1 tablespoon honey mustard per sandwich 1 slice cheddar cheese per sandwich 1 slice bacon per sandwich Butter for toasting buns

Instructions

1. Lightly butter and toast the hot dog buns in a skillet or oven. Fry bacon strips in a skillet until crispy and set aside. Cook chicken tenders until golden brown and cooked through. Place two chicken tenders in each bun, drizzle with honey mustard, add bacon, and top with cheddar cheese. Broil the assembled sandwiches briefly until the cheese is melted. Serve hot.

Notes

Make sure to toast the buns to prevent sogginess. Don’t overcook the chicken so it stays juicy. Use good quality honey mustard for the best flavor.
