Ingredients
12 oz bowtie pasta
1/2 lb ground beef
1/2 lb smoked sausage, sliced
2 tbsp Cajun seasoning
4 garlic cloves, minced
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup chicken broth
3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 tbsp butter
1 tbsp olive oil
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
1. Boil the bowtie pasta in salted water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add ground beef and smoked sausage slices. Cook until browned and fully cooked. Remove from pan and set aside.
3. In the same pan, melt butter and add minced garlic. Sauté until fragrant.
4. Pour in chicken broth and stir in heavy cream. Let it simmer gently.
5. Add Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper to the sauce. Let it cook for a few minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
6. Return the cooked beef and sausage to the pan. Add the drained pasta and toss to coat everything in the sauce.
7. Stir in Parmesan cheese and let it melt into the sauce.
8. Finish with freshly chopped parsley and an extra sprinkle of Parmesan before serving.
Notes
Cook pasta just until al dente to prevent it from over-softening when mixed with the sauce.
Start with less Cajun seasoning and adjust for heat to taste.
For a twist, try topping with Cajun-spiced shrimp or roasted vegetables.
