Ingredients
1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
4 oz cream cheese, softened
3 tbsp granulated sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/3 cup strawberry preserves or jam
1 egg (for egg wash)
Powdered sugar (optional, for dusting)
Instructions
1. In a medium bowl, combine the cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and creamy.
2. Roll out the puff pastry slightly and cut into four equal squares.
3. Spoon a portion of the cream cheese mixture into the center of each square, then top with a teaspoon of strawberry preserves.
4. Fold each square into a triangle and press the edges together. Use a fork to crimp the edges and seal them well.
5. Brush each turnover with the beaten egg.
6. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake at 400°F (200°C) for 16–18 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed.
7. Let cool for a few minutes. Dust with powdered sugar before serving if desired.
Notes
Use full-fat cream cheese for the richest flavor.
Be sure your puff pastry is completely thawed to avoid cracking.
Reheat in an oven or air fryer for the best crispy texture.
