Ingredients
4 cups water
4 black tea bags
1 cup fresh or frozen strawberries (sliced)
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup water (for syrup)
1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional)
Ice (to serve)
Instructions
1. Boil 4 cups of water in a saucepan. Remove from heat and steep black tea bags for 10 minutes. Discard tea bags and cool.
2. In another saucepan, combine strawberries, 1 cup sugar, and 1 cup water. Simmer for 10 minutes until strawberries are soft.
3. Strain the strawberry syrup using a fine mesh strainer, pressing to extract all juices. Let cool.
4. In a large pitcher, mix the cooled tea and strawberry syrup. Add lemon juice if using.
5. Chill in the refrigerator.
6. Serve over ice with optional strawberry or lemon garnish.
Notes
Let the strawberry syrup cool completely before mixing to avoid cloudiness.
Use unsweetened frozen strawberries if fresh ones are out of season.
Add fresh mint or lemonade for a creative twist.
