Description

This Thai Basil Beef Rolls recipe delivers bold Thai flavor in easy-to-roll bites. Perfect for dinner or party appetizers, with tender beef, garlic, chilies, and fresh Thai basil wrapped in lettuce or rice paper. Ideal for low-carb meals or healthy Asian-inspired dinners.

Ingredients

1 lb beef (flank steak thinly sliced or ground beef)

3 cloves garlic, minced

2 Thai red chilies, finely chopped

1 tbsp fish sauce

1 tbsp soy sauce

1 tbsp oyster sauce

1 tsp brown sugar

1 cup fresh Thai basil leaves

8 large lettuce leaves or 8 rice paper wrappers

1 lime, cut into wedges

1 cup cooked rice or rice noodles (optional)

Instructions

1. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add a touch of oil. Cook the beef until browned and just cooked through. Remove and set aside.

2. Lower heat and add garlic and chilies to the skillet. Sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.

3. Add fish sauce, soy sauce, oyster sauce, and brown sugar. Stir and let it simmer for one minute.

4. Return the beef to the skillet. Add Thai basil leaves and stir until wilted. Remove from heat.

5. Prepare lettuce or rice paper wrappers. Add beef mixture, a squeeze of lime, and optional rice or noodles. Roll tightly and serve immediately.

Notes

Use Thai basil for authentic flavor.

Avoid overfilling wraps to make rolling easier.

Prepare sauce ingredients ahead to avoid overcooking aromatics.
