Description

Thai Basil Chicken is a quick and flavorful Thai stir-fry made with chicken, Thai basil, garlic, chilies, and a bold umami-rich sauce. This easy weeknight recipe offers a spicy, savory meal ready in under 30 minutes. Perfect for lovers of authentic Thai food or anyone craving a simple yet delicious chicken dinner.

Ingredients

300g chicken thighs or breast

3 cloves garlic, minced

3 Thai chilies, sliced (adjust to taste)

1 shallot, thinly sliced

1 tablespoon soy sauce

1 tablespoon oyster sauce

1 teaspoon fish sauce

1/2 teaspoon sugar

1 cup Thai basil leaves

1 tablespoon vegetable oil

Instructions

1. Prepare all your ingredients: slice the chicken, mince the garlic, slice chilies and shallot, and measure sauces.

2. Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Sauté garlic, chilies, and shallots for 30 seconds until fragrant.

3. Add the chicken and stir-fry until fully cooked and slightly browned.

4. Stir in soy sauce, oyster sauce, fish sauce, and sugar. Cook until the sauce reduces.

5. Turn off heat, add Thai basil, and stir until wilted.

6. Serve over jasmine rice, optionally topped with a fried egg.

Notes

Use Thai basil for authentic flavor.

Adjust chilies for your spice preference.

Cook chicken in batches to avoid steaming.
