Description

This Thanksgiving Broccoli Side Dish brings crisp-tender roasted broccoli to your holiday table, with savory garlic, lemon zest, parmesan, and golden breadcrumbs. It’s a simple, delicious, and festive green side dish perfect for balancing out hearty mains.

Ingredients

4 cups broccoli florets

2 tablespoons olive oil

3 garlic cloves minced

1 teaspoon lemon zest

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese

1/3 cup panko breadcrumbs

Optional red pepper flakes

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil for easy cleanup.

2. Wash and thoroughly dry the broccoli florets.

3. In a large bowl, toss broccoli with olive oil, garlic, lemon zest, salt, and black pepper until evenly coated. Spread on baking sheet in a single layer.

4. Roast for 20 minutes, stirring halfway through, until broccoli is tender and edges are golden.

5. Remove from oven, sprinkle with parmesan and breadcrumbs, and return to oven for 5 more minutes until golden.

6. Serve warm with a sprinkle of red pepper flakes if desired.

Notes

Dry the broccoli well to avoid sogginess.

Don’t overcrowd the pan for maximum crisp.

Top right before serving for the crispiest finish.
