Description

Creamy, tangy, and just the right amount of sweet, this Thousand Island Dressing is a homemade upgrade to your favorite deli or diner classic. Ideal for salads, sandwiches, and dipping.

Ingredients

1 cup mayonnaise

1/4 cup ketchup

2 tablespoons sweet pickle relish

1 tablespoon finely minced onion

1 teaspoon white vinegar

1/2 teaspoon paprika

1/2 teaspoon sugar (optional)

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

1. In a medium bowl, combine the mayonnaise and ketchup. Stir until smooth.

2. Fold in the sweet pickle relish, minced onion, vinegar, paprika, and sugar if using. Mix well.

3. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Adjust if needed.

4. For a thinner dressing, add water a teaspoon at a time.

5. Chill for at least 30 minutes before serving for best flavor.

Notes

For a tangier version, add a squeeze of lemon juice.

Finely chop your pickles if not using relish.

For added depth, try a pinch of garlic powder or cayenne.
